My Favourite Time To Visit The Basque Country

If I had to choose one season, I’d recommend late spring or early autumn. You’ll get pleasant weather, fewer crowds than peak summer, and ideal conditions for combining city breaks, coastal views, and food experiences.

Getting To The Basque Country

The Basque Country is easy to reach from across Spain and Europe, with international airports, rail connections, and excellent road links connecting the region to the rest of the country.

By Air

Bilbao Airport is the region’s main international gateway, whilst San Sebastián Airport and nearby Biarritz Airport provide additional connections.

By Train

Rail services connect Bilbao, San Sebastián, and Vitoria-Gasteiz with Madrid, Barcelona, and other major Spanish cities.

By Road

Driving is one of the best ways to explore the Basque Country, especially if you want to discover coastal villages, mountain scenery, and destinations beyond the major cities.
