Valencia Arts, Beaches, and Paella Paradise
Valencia In A Nutshell
My first visit to Valencia was back in 2012. Following graduating as a Teacher of Spanish, me and a friend decided to interrail around Spain. We started in Malaga and visited the Andalusian cities of Seville, Granada and Córdoba. We then moved onto Valencia and spent 3 nights here.
I finally returned to Valencia in 2022 with my family. We spent a week in this Mediterranean gem and I fell in love even more with this stunning city.
Valencia’s history and beauty immediately struck me. Its beautiful Old Town is the perfect place to explore with the Cathedral of Valencia being its crowing jewel. Climbing the Miguelete Tower gave us some great views across the Old Town and beyond.
But Valencia isn’t a city stuck in the past. It’s a city of innovation looking towards the future! The incredible City of Arts and Sciences is a true feat of modern architecture and the ingenious Turia Park, which re-routed the disruptive River Turia, leaving behind the perfect space for an urban park.
On top of the city highlights, you also have one of the most beautiful city beaches in the world. Playa de la Malvarrosa is only a short bus ride from the city centre and is the perfect escape from city life!
Valencia appears as my number 1 destination for people visiting Spain for the first time and for good reason! It is a city that has everything!
